Jewel Ward Shines at Hendersonville's Juneteenth
Jewel Ward graced the Juneteenth Event in Hendersonville, North Carolina, on June 12, 2021, singing "Amazing Grace" and "Wade in the Water" alongside a diverse lineup of speakers, dancers, Spoken Word artists, drummers, musicians, and poets.
Hosted by the Black History Collective of Henderson County (BHCHC), this free, outdoor celebration took place at the Hola Carolina Community Arts Center. The event was streamed live on Hola Carolina’s Facebook page, with Jewel's performance starting at the 7:55-minute mark.
The program featured live music, captivating dancers, a stylish fashion show, engaging Spoken Word performances, and an exhibition of original African art.
The event brought together a dynamic group of speakers and performers, including Josh Williams, Crystal Cauley, Adriana C. from Hola Carolina, Joseph K. from Peoples Museum, Yvette F. from Black Business Expo 2022, Diana C. representing Insurance/Wealth, Ralpheal discussing Diversity, and acclaimed artist Connie Knight.
The lineup of performers included Yashara Lynch, Tony R., Kashmere, Crystal & Indian, Laeesha S., The Carolina Diva Diamondz, and Mustapha Braimah, all of whom added their unique flair to the festivities.
